Jason Donkersgoed, Chair of the ICF Coaching Education Global Board, attended one of my workshops and then hired me for a Big Picture Session.
Jason runs a division at a Canadian polytechnic, coaches leaders, has a book in the works. Too many things, all of them good. In my workshop he had seen me draw my own list and put a line around the things that gave me energy — that was why he booked.
We drew his list: family, travel, the job, his own coaching practice, freelance work for another firm, three boards, the book — using his own "dynamic alignment" framework. Once it sat on the page, it was obvious which items fed the framework and which just cost him time.
In a follow-up call he told me he had started making decisions from the drawing. He keeps it on his phone and says he has shown it to about a hundred people.
From our follow-up call, a few weeks after his session.
"The session was magical and created unexpected realizations for me! Within days, I started making big decisions — cutting commitments and focusing on what truly matters – which gave me a sense of clarity and calm."
